Allen’s choice to use steel as his sculpture medium was not just happenstance. He enjoyed a 34-year career importing and distributing steel and steel products, first at Port Everglades Steel Corporation (PESCO). He then established A.G. Royce Group, and served later as a consultant for Concrete Reinforcing Products (CRP). This sculpture is evocative of his successful career as an importer of steel.
